Where to Find Your CTT Tracking Number?

You can locate your CTT shipment tracking number in any of the following places:

What a CTT Tracking Number Looks Like?

CTT uses two main tracking number formats. The majority of parcels follow the standard universal postal format. However, there can be some international shipments—mainly from Spain, which use a longer numeric format.

1. Standard CTT Tracking Number Format (13 characters)

This is the primary format used for most national and international CTT items.

Example: RD123456789PT

It is worth noting that this format is used across the UPU (Universal Postal Union) postal network.

2. 22-Digit Numeric CTT Code

Used mainly for shipments originating in Spain, including some CTT Express / CTT Expresso cross-border parcels.

Example: 0010000082809458634407

Notably, this format contains 22 digits with no letters. It is assigned to specific international logistics flows where Spanish partners generate the label.

FAQs

Why is my CTT tracking number not updating?

Updates may appear after the parcel reaches the first CTT facility. In the early stages, such as pickup or initial sorting, scans sometimes run late. If your tracking stays unchanged for a long time, contact support with your CTT tracking number.

No tracking information appears after the item leaves Portugal. Why does this happen?

Some postal operators in other countries provide limited tracking data. Some operators offer slow updates, while others provide none at all. CTT relies on the transit and destination countries for all information after the item departs Portugal.

How does a customer change a delivery for a code that starts with C, G, L, O, R, U, or V?

A code that starts with C, G, L, O, R, U, or letters qualifies for the SIGA delivery-change options. So, a customer may request delivery to the same address. In fact, the customer may request delivery to a new address. Moreover, the customer may request delivery to any CTT store. The SIGA form includes a list of exceptions at the beginning.

What can a customer do when an item travels through the network without a tracking code?

Certain CTT shipping services do not offer full tracking. An item from such a service travels through the network without a visible tracking record. The sender often provides the shipping code separately. CTT also provides the code through SMS, email, or a delivery notice in the mailbox. Once the customer receives the code, they can use it to follow the shipment and request delivery adjustments.

Can weather conditions affect the delivery of mail and parcels?

Yes. Adverse weather conditions can interrupt transport routes because it can slow down operational work at distribution centers, which causes delayed movement across delivery zones. Mail and parcels may reach the customer later than expected during such periods.
